Personality
Anastasia tends to be outwardly detached and distant. She treats everyone with an air of politeness, though it’s less for the express reason of being polite and more so that she can safely get away from most conversations very quickly. Her humor, or at least the only humor she tends to be good at, is dry and sarcastic and blunt; it sometimes comes off as condescending, and whenever someone points it out to her she becomes horrified because that, certainly, was not her intention. Either way, she tries to make her humor serve the purpose of keeping people out of her life, which mostly works. Her isolation is self-imposed; she has a hard time trusting that people actually want to talk to her as a person instead of her as a Wyly.
She doesn’t tend to have too many friends, instead preferring to have a few that she knows well, and is varying degrees of personal with them. While she still keeps some of her politeness, her lowering whatever trust mechanisms is apparent; while she isn’t overly affectionate on the best of days, or at least casually, it’s not only apparent that she cares enough to try but that she is trying. She mostly favors tough love (she will give advice and help, but she feels uncomfortable trying to influence people to do something and so tends to be extremely honest and, more often than not, harsher than she realizes she’s being), she’s fiercely protective and loyal to people she cares about and will do all she can to help them.
Her own problems, however, she deals with horribly. She often bottles up her feelings of frustration and doesn’t have much of an outlet to let it out, and thus her problems usually don’t get solved in a productive manner. She also tends to run from anything she thinks she can’t deal with or doesn’t want to deal with, mostly because she doesn’t think she’s able to properly deal with them. She tends to do this with projects, too, and thinks it’s a byproduct of her being a perfectionist; if she doesn’t think she can do it correctly with the resources she has, she tends to put it off until she does have the proper resources. A lot of the time she does this with actually important things she needs to do, but it’s not often enough to make it a serious trend of indication of her work ethic (which tends to be quite good).
Despite her reservation, Anastasia tends to make rash decisions. She thinks fast, sure, but she also tends to act before she does that, and it probably isn’t the best for her self-preservation. She’s quick to defend those she’s loyal to, which was stated above, but she also has a soft spot for those who need help; despite it probably not being a good idea due to her small size, she often steps between abusers and the abused, especially when the abused are children or Pokémon. She doesn’t view it as something she can just easily ignore and, even if she didn’t act impulsively, would likely involve herself anyway.

History
She was born into a falling noble house; Kalos, while they no longer have a king or nobility, still honor old money and the descendants of the former ruling class. The Wylys were in the last of their money, especially after she was born. She was ten when her father learned of Lysandre Labs, then just starting up, and invested nearly everything the family had left in the company. Everyone had thought he’d gone mad; her mother was ready to pack up herself and Anastasia, to go live somewhere else, and her brother, Adrien, (then fifteen) had come home from his journey to see what in the world his family was doing in the news. It wasn’t a fun time in their life, or at least it wasn’t until Lysandre Labs took off. But the company did, and the Wyly name became at least somewhat important again, or at least in the sense that people like to talk about the upper class. Her brother lingered until her eleventh birthday, where he gave her a Noibat, before taking off on his journey once again. As her father got more and more involved with Lysandre’s company, the media began focusing more and more of their attention on the Wylys, and Anastasia learned that she didn’t care much for the attention.
Until she was fourteen, everything was bearable. Sure, she was made to go to fancy parties that she could care less about and she discovered more people were interested in her name and money than in her, but it was something that she found horrible but expected and became withdrawing herself from other people. At fourteen her father was offered an actually position – paid, and higher up – in Lysandre’s company, and that was when her parents decided to tell her that it would be best for her to stay home, abandon whatever dreams she had of training Pokémon, and staying at home to learn about business to be able to join her father one day. She wasn’t happy in the slightest and it wasn’t a happy time in the household, since both sides refused to budge, and it became worse when Adrien came home and instantly joined her side.
To this day Anastasia doesn’t know how he did it (but she has theories, most involving him promising to one day join their father in business), but she was beginning her journey about a month after her fifteenth birthday. At first she challenged herself, and her Pokémon, in order to spite her parents, since they didn’t want her to go and she was sure they didn’t want her to flourish. But as time went on, and she had a lot of time to think while on the road, she decided to challenge herself and her Pokémon because she could and because she wanted to; she wanted to have an achievement that wasn’t because of her name and she wanted to be known as something before she was known as the daughter to a guy who made a good investment at the right time and got the benefits from it.
She battled and trained and defeated gym leaders, spending two years and gaining eight badges before going home. She didn’t stay too long, but she did stay long enough that her parents got her into going to their parties again, which she had mixed feelings about. She was afraid of still being known as a daughter to a successful man, but to her surprise there were members of the crowd that knew of her accomplishments as a trainer also, and it settled most of her fears.
When she left she didn’t go to Victory Road; instead, she went to the Battle Chateau. She’d been offered an invitation as soon as the institution had found out she was a trainer, but she’d declined showing up until she felt like she deserved to be there. She went and she battled there, using it to test whether she’d be good enough to make it through Victory Road. After she gained several ranks in a couple of months, she decided she’d be fine and set off to see the Pokémon League for the first time.
She battled there three times; the first was straight from Victory Road (after visiting a Pokémon Center, of course) and she failed spectacularly. After that defeat she went home for two years, spending time with her parents and brother (who had decided to spend some time at home too) and making trips to the Battle Chateau and battling her brother in order to stay in shape. She was twenty when she challenged next, and she failed again, and she spent a few months home before journeying around the region again. It served no purpose other than giving her something to do, but she did it all the same, and she took her time on this trip. In fact, she was four years into her second journey when Lysandre declared he was Team Flare’s leader and that was what interrupted her trip; she felt she, as an accomplished trainer, needed to do something, and even if she didn’t know where Team Flare’s base was (or how to stop them from using the weapon), she flew back to her hometown and helped Clemont the best she could with evacuations and preparations and keeping everyone calm. When word came that a group of young heroes had stopped Team Flare, she spent time helping to rebuild Geosenge Town and trying to avoid the press, who seemed to be trying to connect all they could to Team Flare; her father had quite the time trying to convince people he wasn’t a member, but in the end there was no evidence to suggest he was. With Lysandre’s apparent death and no other apparent family, her father was offered the company and he accepted once everything had settled down.
She didn’t resume her journey after helping rebuild Geosenge Town. After spending a month resting at home, she decided to battle the Elite Four once more, and she made it through only to fail fighting the Champion. Despite the failure, she was happy with her personal growth, and in the end decided that becoming Kalos’s champion wasn’t something she would be interested in; her family was already too well known in the region for her own comfort, and the last thing she wanted to add to that was a Pokémon League title. At twenty-five she left Kalos to explore the rest of the Pokémon world. She was aiming for Hoenn or Sinnoh, to try her luck there, but after a few wrong turns ended up in the Kochi Region.
It was a change for her, and she adapted, and she battled her way through this region. After gaining eight badges she went and challenged the Elite Four, blazing through to be stopped by the Champion once again, but she wasn’t expecting something much different. She spent some time just roaming the Region, exploring and talking to the people, and was recently asked to fill a vacancy in the Elite Four from a member retiring. She accepted the position and has taken up her spot as the newest Elite Four member.
