Personality
Professor Maple is not what one would call a normal sort of grown adult. In fact, he acts like a little kid most of the time, using phrases like ‘super awesome-sauce’, but he knows a lot of information. In the Kochi Region his intelligence on the pokemon is only rivaled by perhaps Professor Hawthorne, and Professor Cedar on her good days. Professor Maple is the sort of guy who makes snap judgments on people and almost always he rules everyone someone he would like. Really, Maple loves all sorts of people and pokemon, and has a passion for knowledge. While Maple was left out of the getting to go on a pokemon journey, he prefers the getting to know pokemon and letting other kids go on their journey that he never got to. Maple still does have his favorite pokemon, an Axew. He doesn’t fight with it, ever, but the two of them are great friends.
Maple is extremely active and always the optimist. He believes that there is good in all people, and believes in the end, everyone should make the right choice. If one visits his lab in South Springboard where he gives out starter pokemon, they may find him jumping all around and laughing loudly to himself, like a mad scientist, sometimes yelling out ‘Eureka’ or something to that effect. Despite this outwardly crazy appearance, Maple is highly respected in the Pokemon community having started people on their journeys for nearly 13 years, and by helping those in need. He knows how to heal pokemon quickly and effectively and has even developed more efficient ways to make potions of all sorts, even creating a potion that would help regenerate a pokemon’s power over time, which helps for those pokemon at full health that may get hit.
Really, in the end Maple is extremely insecure about his own appearance and can be found straightening out his lab coat and making sure any and all hair is gone from his coat and all of his close. His hair must look a certain way and his desk must be a certain way (though it appears extremely messy to others). Maple is extremely trusting and will give everyone two or three chances before he doesn’t trust them anymore. Even if someone betrays him, he’ll trust them for a second time and maybe a third time after that. Maple is easily taken advantage of by lying to, but those who he doesn’t trust, well, he is extremely negative to them, though may still speak positively about them. Those are the only people that he does not treat as a friend.

History
Maple was born in the Sinnoh Region. His mother was a pokemon breeder and his dad was a technology engineer, though his mother was not around often. Growing up, Xavier was assigned to watch over her pokemon when his mother was gone and father was at work. Xavier became obsessed with the pokemon and when he went to school he began dreaming of becoming a pokemon professor like the one who was giving pokemon out to the kids around. However, since his mother depended on him to be home, Xavier did not go on a pokemon journey like many other kids, though he was offered a pokemon to do so. Eventually, his mother offered him a piplup of hers, but he refused having really no desire to fight the pokemon, but to raise them and study them.
Xavier grew up, like everyone else did, and became an apprentice under Professor Rowan and two years after that, he traveled to the Kochi Region, which was newly discovered at the time, and took up the post in South Springboard where he raised starter pokemon to give to kids to start their pokemon journeys. There, he met the professors in Grahm Town and held close ties to those in Grahm Town. In fact, he really likes Professor Cedar, despite her odd tendencies.
